Naruto: Shippuden – Episode 001 – 002

Yes it’s here. No I’m not joking. After about 80 odd episodes of horrendous fillers, the plot finally reverts back to the manga storyline. Shippuden is born!

Firstly, when I was desperately waiting for Dattebayo to finish subbing the episode, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw ‘Naruto Hurricane Chronicle Episode 001(XVid) avi’ on the Scarywater tracker……BY SD PROJECT!!!! That’s right folks, SD Project will be subbing Shippuden from now on and they seem to be doing it faster than even Dattebayo with their super-release speed ^_^

The episode starts out rather dramatically with Naruto and Sakura having found Sasuke. I personally didn’t like the way they started out…I mean showing that scene now is a complete spoiler….oh well. For non-filler watchers like me, you needn’t worry since the plot can be followed even if you stopped at episode 135. Anyways, Sasuke plans on killing Naruto and at the same time, the Kyuubi inside Naruto’s body urges him to release his seal. However, Sasuke manages to see into Naruto’s inner mind with his Sharingan and dispels the Kyuubi. And then the opening video starts rolling.

I quite liked the OP though the ED was better in my opinion(but i wanted Toshiro Masuda T_T). For a one hour special, this episode was pretty dragged with lots of scenes which weren’t in the manga as well as a few changes(Temari and Shikamaru being introduced beforehand). Overall it was a nice episode and nostalgic as well. The plot finally starts progressing forward with the Akatsuki organisation comprising S-ranked shinobi on the move searching for ‘Jinchuriki’(term to be explained later in the anime). The Sunagakure with their new Kazekage(who could it be?) tighten security due to the impending danger of Akatsuki. A new duo from Akatsuki soon arrive….a hunchback(Sasori) and another member who’s fighting style is ‘a work of art’(Deidara). Sasori mentions something about a ‘Jinchuriki’ being in Sunagakure….hmmmm….

Well the plot STARTS progressing, but it barely progresses in this episode. I guess Deidara’s not a girl then….>_<

Animation was pretty good though there were quite a few squiffy scenes which stood out. I didn’t like that whole keyword thingy though, it seemed pretty bland if you ask me. And then of course, there’s the preview for the next episode:-

Yeah, the plot will progress slowly for quite a while so bear with it. But rest assured, there’s gonna be two GRAND fights soon so just sit tight! A lot of people who bashed Naruto have decided to start watching Shippuden….well I’m sure they’ll start liking it as soon as the main fights begin! I’m currently trying to inject myself with a tranquillizer to keep sleeping till next week…I can barely wait! Narutards, old and new alike….NARUTO IS BACK!!!
